My Friday night 1/31: Opening night of the new coworking space

For me “work” ended at 3:45. Because I had to drive across town for the open house of our new office building.

My company is moving from our current office space to a new coworking building About an hoir across town. So I spent an hour and 15min in rush hour traffice on a Friday. Which I really didnt mind because I got to listen to the Afford Anything podcast.

I listen to Financial Independence podcasts and other almost everyday.

But I was surprised at how long it took me to get over there.

There were a lot more people at the opening than I was expecting. The major of Richardson cut the ribbon on the building along with the building owner and his family.

At first I was indifferent about moving office. I was actually kind of excited, because it would give me an excuse to work from home several days a week, because of the distance.

It surprised me. It looks pretty cool on the inside and has quite a few amenities. Like a really nice kitchen, gym and nap rooms.

I already started thinking about how I can maximize use if the space. I am thinking about starting a podcast and thought I might be able to use one of the rooms for my show.

Here is what the space looks like so far, it is not completely finished:

So I went to show support for the company. And get to chit chat with my boss and the salesman. I was dressed in a suit and got to meet some new business people.

After the event I went to happy hour with a few of my colleagues.

After happy hour I met a friend for his birthday at one of the local gay bars and met more new people.

I like going to the gays a lot. You always get to meet new and interesting people and I love dancing to high energy music.

After that I came home and watch a program with my husband and puppy dog on the couch before heading to bed.

I was a long day, but fun. I like keeping busy. Hopefully it means that I have lots of things going on in my life.

If you have a chnace to mingle with coworkers or customers outside of work take it. It will deepen your relationship. People yearn for a chnace to connect on a deeper level. You will also get the chnace to see how they react outside of work. For better or worse. And they will get to see you and head about your life.

Never be afraid of people. They are just as insecure if not more than you are.
